Alright, there are a few ground rules I have to lay down before things get started. I don't think they're anything you haven't seen before, but it's important none the less that you follow them.
----
.) Be courteous to other members. DHD is a place for recreation, so please keep the environment friendly. I ask that you please treat other members, their opinions, and their beliefs with respect.
.) Don't Flame or Troll. I know not everyone gets along, but attacking other members is not an acceptable action. Hate comments, threats, bullying, and trolling will not be tolerated. I'm willing to be flexible on this because everyone gets mad sometimes, but if things get out of hand I will take action. Members who act this way will be banned; Flame Wars and other hateful threads will be locked or deleted.
.) Don't spam. In case you haven't heard that term before, SPAM stands for Stupid Pointless Annoying Message. Posts that have no point, are extremely short (like a sentence or less), or were made simply to get attention are considered spam and will be locked or deleted. Members who continually do this on purpose will be banned if they do not stop.
.) Don't double post. If you happen to do so by accident or due to internet problems that's fine. But please don't post two or more times in a row on purpose. One post can fit as many as 60,000 characters, and can be modified afterward with the Edit button, so there's really no reason why you can't fit everything you need to say in a single post. Posting several times in a row is annoying and a waste of space.
.) Don't reply to dead threads. Every post on this board lists the date it was put up, so please pay attention to that. You can tell how active or inactive a thread is by the status of its folder icon or the date of it's most recent reply. Threads which have not been replied to in a very long time are dead, so there's no point in replying to them. It only shows that you aren't paying as much attention as you should be.
.) Post in the correct place. The forum is split into different categories for a reason. Please read the title and description of a board before posting there.
.) Use correct spelling and grammar. I know that not everyone is an English major, but you have to remember that this is a forum: text is all we have to communicate with. This is more important in the roleplays than anywhere else, but it's pretty much a given that unreadable posts will be a problem no matter where they're made. Please use good spelling and grammar read what you've written before you post it.
.) Listen to the staff. Moderators and Administrators are members who I have appointed specifically to take care of the boards. They are knowledgeable, responsible, experienced, and acting in your best interest. Please respect them and their decisions.
